Now, since the science fiction movies of the 1930's any strange alien space craft sighting is thought to be technology, a large piece of metal with blinking lights and such, all in all its composed of technology. But what were they thought to be before people knew of mechanics or electricity ?What were alien space ships thought to be before technology ?
I just love the old 30's Flash Gordon series, I remember watching them in the cinema as a child in the 40s, look around the space ship for odd lorry parts etc.

In the late 1800s there were reports of sightings of strange "airships," usually depicted as dirigible-like.



I wouldn't necessarily assume that any of them, ancient or modern, are actually alien spaceships though. UFOs generally seem to be more of a psychological phenomenon than a physical occurrence.What were alien space ships thought to be before technology ?
