What the difference between electrical engineering and electrical technology engineering?

whats the difference between the two? What kind of jobs are available to the technology one, and which is more likely to get hired? How much more do engineers make then technology majors ? are Electrical technology really engineers ?

What the difference between electrical engineering and electrical technology engineering?
According to this:

Students of electrical engineering technology learn the design, drafting, and technical skills they need to assist engineers and put engineering ideas into action.

It sounds like the technology version is more like an AS degree, so you can help an engineer. A technician really. If you are the helper, you always make less. How much is relative, but in CA a new BS. EE can expect anywhere from $55-$65k to start. So the AS degree will only get you into the upper $20k to mid $30k.

There is a huge difference between a technician and an engineer. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of very smart technicians, who can out design some engineers I've met. But typically a technician can design stuff as a hobby, but an engineers designs need to be production proof, having no component tolerance issues over 10k to millions of units.

That's why they get paid the big bucks.

AaronWhat the difference between electrical engineering and electrical technology engineering?
Electrical Engineering is a complete 5 year bachelor degree course while as Electrical Technology is only a 3 year associate course. The graduates of Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering are called Electrical Engineers once they passed the licensure exam for electrical engineers while the Electrical Techonology graduates are only eligible to be called Electricians up to Master Electricians. Master Electricians can proceed to complete a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering and take licensure exam to be qualified as engineers. In terms of job and salary, of course, the Electrical Engineers has higher position and salary compared to Master Electricians. What the difference between electrical engineering and electrical technology engineering?
Electrical engineering deals with ALL aspects of electrical things, from power generation %26amp; transmission, to superconductors. Whereas Electronics Engineers deal more with things at the component level, primarily Integrated circuits, signal processing, gadgets like your GPS, and iPOD. Another field is civil engineering and companies such as www.aimil.com are leading civil engineering product manufacturers
