What type of technology and how does it work to sweep for hidden electronic devices?

How do they find hidden microphone or other devices and how does it work technologicaly speaking and how do they applied the method of searches in order to get results.



Is it like a radar type deal thing? I can't hardly imagine that it is a very advance technology. In fact I'm pretty sure it is somewhat simple and cheap.What type of technology and how does it work to sweep for hidden electronic devices?
All electronic devices generate electromagnetic signal. Other electronic devices like sensor can monitor/sweep electromagnetic signal. This devices are simple and cheap, but for make devices with high performance need other electronic circuits and cost.

Two kinds of spy devices,wireless and with wire device.

A dectector that can pick up frequency vary from 20 mc up to 800 mc. These range cover most short wave ,VHF,UHF etc.

As this detector closes to this hidden transmitter,it indicates a bit bit sound to warn a subspected signal being found.

This detector shall not work on device using wire to transmit,like telephone. It requires a large pickup coil to detect the metal,like the wires and microphone. But it shall not work on non-metal fibre optic len spy device.What type of technology and how does it work to sweep for hidden electronic devices?
I assume your hidden electronic device transmits on a radio frequency.

There are spectrum analyzers that will cover all those frequencies, but they are pricey.

A spectrum analyzer will sweep all the frequencies and display them on a scope or digital screen. It is easy to see where the hidden transmitters is, because the spike on the scope will let you know. If you are shopping for a spectrum analyzer, a good one, be ready to shell out 50 ooo or so.
