What technology did they make in the industrial revolution that is now way better today?

im trying to compare how the industrial revolution impacted today...i know that in the revolution, new inventions were made, so i wanna compare how because of that event we came up with much more advanced technology...can anyone give me some examples of some inventions back then that evolved today? Thank you! What technology did they make in the industrial revolution that is now way better today?

Lots of things made during the Industrial Revolution laid the ground work for almost everything our current day to day life. For instance, the telephone was invented during this time period, electric motors, the cotton gin, sewing machine, phonograph.....

Just take the cotton gin and the sewing machine into consideration. The cotton gin revolutionized the way cotton was processed. It was more efficient and made it so cotton farmers could process more cotton, more cheaply than ever before. Sewing machines made it so textile products could be produced at a higher rate and more easily accessible to everyone. Just thinking about these two inventions and how much they influenced our daily lives is really amazing. Sewing machines now can be programmed so that there is little to no human contact between the cloth and the machine. We even now have monogramming machines where we can individualize items literally in seconds.

The inventions of phones set forth a whole new way of communication. I'm assuming this is for a paper of some sort. Just talking about telecommunication and how its evolved since the inception of the first phone could be a phenominal topic which you could easily work into a paper. What technology did they make in the industrial revolution that is now way better today?
Light bulbs used to be a lot bigger and a lot less efficient than they are now.

The combustion engine is also more efficient- the first cars ever built in the 1890s were simple and had poor mileage

also, some modern trains are a lot faster then the ones from the 1830s
