That's what I would think are addictions these days. What do you think is the top 5 technology addictions today?

I have to say, Ted Kaczynski was most def. right. Our technological advancements have been so great that we will soon not even have to lift a finger, nor think for ourselves for that matter. Cellphones, Television, the Internet, and Video Game Consoles drain our minds into a warp zone, sending us through unnatural impulses and making us flawed in many mentally precieving ways. Another big baddy would be the automated work machine; it takes more jobs than anything/anyone else.
1. Internet (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, YouTube, email, instant messaging, etc.) - I have to admit I'm addicted to computer usage, specifically Internet usage. For me, a computer is really nothing without Internet connection. I check Facebook multiple times an hour if I have free time just to know what's up with my friends. However, I don't update my status or do much on Facebook. I use Twitter to update what I'm doing. As for YouTube, yes, I'm also addicted to it. You wouldn't know unless you make YouTube videos yourself. There's this "pleasure" I get whenever I get new subscribers. YouTubers like that tend to be addicted to numbers (views, subscribers, ratings, comments). Many people have drifted away from email addiction because of websites like Facebook. To be honest, I actually think Facebook is even more useful than email in some ways. Instant messaging is also an addiction nowadays. I know many people who are online almost the entire day!

2. Cars - We're addicted to this form of transportation. This is a must for some of us.

3. Cell phones - This is self-explanatory.

4. Portable music players - iPods, Zunes, etc.

5. Gaming - Many games have so much hype. Some of the people I know talk about "Call of Duty" just about every single day.
It may not be in wrong category, if you use books as topic, one maybe using a Kindle reader, or iPad, or PC tablet, to read E-Books,

In the news this week LeapFish.com had a article on how social media sites are addicting. Someone actually did a study with people while on social media sites like Facebook. The brain actually secreted a chemical that has a calming effect and makes people feel safe. Once again science has found another very addictive technology for us to worry about.

Other technologies that feed this addiction are handheld phones where people check into their fav sites. TV can now connect to these and others like Ebay. Feed the addictions.
