Technology that doesn't depend on limited resources or that won't cause more harm than they are worth.



An example:

Oil and coal are not a sustainable energy source because we'll eventually run out of them or they will cause to much environmental problems.



Wind energy and solar energy are sustainable because we'll have those things for basically as long as the earth is habitable and they don't harm the environment.
