What will technology and our world be like in 50 years?

I'm writing a novel and need to flesh out the kind of setting the book is in. I want to mirror the 1960's in the 2060's in which riots and marches take place for mutants instead of the African Americans.



Anyway, I need an idea about where technology will be in 50 years. Will it be all that different from today? Will cars still have wheels, and will house hold appliances be floating around? I'm rather stuck on this. Opinions or educated predictions are great as well as links.What will technology and our world be like in 50 years?
I'm guessing things will be more green friendly thanks to the tree huggers, but i think new advanced technology will be only for the rich. Yes i believe cars will still have wheels as it's cheaper to make cars roll than to hover. Floating stoves and fridges? bad idea. No i seriously doubt things will hover just because they can MAKE things hover. But they have already invented hovering cars. They are very ugly though. And insanely expensive. so they will probably be a little more common in 50 years but not everyone will have one. Most people wont.



They might have moon transports to take the rich people who are willing to spend millions on such a trip, As i heard they will be doing that in so many years.



They will probably reach father out in space, Perhaps mars. No farther. But it's a long trip to mars and going any faster may kill anyone on board the transport to mars. So i have doubts.



But people who say we were wrong in the 1960's misunderstand that all of that stuff was new. Scientists have a way better understanding of things by now. But that's almost arguing with myself. I stand by my first point i just wanted to state that. Who knows.



And those Bionic legs they have for the impaired will probably eventually be upgraded, Faster and stronger.



Fake hearts, You know the battery one? I'm guessing alot of it will be perfected. Perhaps eye transplant but i seriously doubt it.What will technology and our world be like in 50 years?
if we arent destroyed by global warming etc:

everything will be slimmer, sleeker, and faster. laptops might be carried around in pockets and will be lighter than an apple. alot of us will have robot body part (legs, arms etc that got broken and were replaced) and remeber stuff like elvis might be how we see classical!!! so yeh, try and use some imagination though ;)What will technology and our world be like in 50 years?
In the 1960's, people thought that by now we would all be floating around and have moonbases and spaceships, look how wrong that was.
